Accredited schools are always the smartest choice. Nevada requires a minimum of 500 hours of instruction in order to be licensed. Northwest Career College’s Massage Therapy program is an 625 hour course that prepares students and graduates for the massage therapy profession.

To qualify for a Massage Therapist license in Nevada, you must complete a minimum of 500 hours of training from a school approved by the Nevada Commission on Post Secondary Education. When you attend Northwest Career College’s Massage Therapy program and pass your national boards in as little as 6 months, you can apply for your state license.

Massage Therapy is regulated on both a state and a local level in Nevada. Northwest Career College will assist you with applying for a state license after graduating from its Massage Therapy program, but there are various local business licenses that you might need to obtain if you decide to do chair massage or perform outcall massages. Our Massage Therapy faculty and Career Services advisors will help you determine which licenses you will need after graduation.

Students must pass a background check in order to receive their state-issued license. But, each application for licensure is considered individually. Having a criminal background does not preclude you from licensure.

Yes. Massage Therapy students at Northwest Career College will partake in hands-on training in the classroom and their Student Clinic Internship.

Yes. In order to properly teach draping and techniques, students are required to undress fully for the massage. Please be aware that we teach appropriate draping techniques that keep the recipient comfortable and covered during the massage. Only the areas being massaged will be draped.
